Never before has a title befitted an output of music. One that has spanned 8 years in the making and borne witness to immense personal upheaval, personnel change and the rawest of human experience. Whilst 2020 delivered epic proportions of uncertainty and foreboding across the world, the inner world of KONTAKTE was fractured by the tragic and untimely passing of Stuart Low, the much-admired guitarist and musical life blood of the tenacious electronica-led post-rock duo.

With Stuart leaving behind a catalogue of music, it fell into the hands of sole surviving and original member Ian Griffiths to complete; not just a new album, but to create and release a record that duly shines a light on Stuart’s musicianship and guitar playing prowess, whilst also delivering a suitable finale and conclusion to the KONTAKTE project. With a finite amount of material available, a catharsis was braved in order to methodically trawl through recordings, both realised and in sketch form, to piece together what has become the bands most challenging album to date. Drawing help from across the globe from one-time members Gary McDermott and Ben Worth, KONTAKTE have produced a collective and beguiling fourth and final album - one as equally fierce and abrasive in sound as it is inwardly reflective in conception.

Designed to be experienced through twin stereo reproduction by the synchronised playback of the two separate album parts (I & II) allows for the music to permeate both the listener and environment, naturally shifting to reveal new layers of both clarity and obscurity with each listen.

Music from the album also features in the accompanying self-produced 28 minute film, 'The Insurgent Virtue'.
